Pear Tree

It is a tall tree from Europe and Occidental Asia that in its adult phase has a crown a bit rounded and whose branches are first ascendant and then are bent towards its ends, it grows up to 18 meters and its dark bark splits in rectangles.

Its beige-reddish wood is of excellent quality, strong and with regular grain and it is used for furniture, drawing instruments, engraving pieces, carving, turnery and decorative layers. The leaves are oval and elliptic of 5-8 cm length slightly crenadas,of brilliant dark green and a clearer back ,with petioles of 2-4 cm.

The leaves have a lot of short and rigid spurs, sometimes thorny; prior to leaves growing a large mass of white flowers blooms, of 2-3,5 cm diameter, assembled in small racemes. The fruit is small,of 2,5-5 cm length, sometimes spherical.
